Panchakarma is a very powerful and very nurturing method for balancing, detoxifying and restoring the human body. Panchakarma has been an essential component of Ayurveda’s 5000 years of continuous practice.

History tells of world leaders and other prominent figures valuing Panchakarma for its ability to maintain and increase health, its aid in the recovery from chronic and debilitating illness and its anti-aging capacities. Today we are exposed to ever increasing levels of pollution and toxins, these benefits of Pancha-karma are needed more than ever.

Panchakarma at Living Ayurveda is without exception, the most personalized, individually focused, quality healthcare available. We do not make this statement lightly nor flippantly, we are fully cognizant of the responsibility and commitment it implies. A unique protocol and Panchakarma plan is created for each and every client incorporating your specific health concerns and your goals, with special attention giving to your unique constitution. This plan is created after an in-depth interview and health assessment which includes your active participation. The plan is a joint effort to insure that your needs and concerns are addressed, that we all have a common understanding of your current health profile, and that you are comfortable and completely understand both the intent and expected outcome of the specific treatments that you will receive. Panchakarma at Living Ayurveda is usually a minimum of 7 days and up to 14 days. We can do modified shorter programs at your request.

This planning and preparation is performed with our full knowing that you are a unique individual and that your body will respond uniquely as you progress through Panchakarma. As your body responds and treatment goals are achieved, it may become evident that we need to revise the plan or even create a completely new plan. This is truly individualized care. No other clinic or institute provides this level of concern and personal attention.

Susan and Jeff Turner, the principles at Living Ayurveda, oversee and are personally involved with every aspect of your Panchkarma. Both Susan and Jeff are Certified Ayurvedic Practitioners with extensive training and experience in both Ayurvedic and traditional medicine. At least one of us, and often both of us, will administer your treatments. Having a Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner hands-on involved with all aspects of your care is at the top of a list of distinctions that separates Living Ayurveda from all other clinics and institutes.

At other clinics, an Ayurvedic Practitioner or Panchakarma Administrator will see you for a brief office visit only after you arrive to receive Panchakarma. This visit really should occur weeks, and ideally months, before treatment begins to prepare your body to receive Panchakarma. We have had a number of clients that had previously received Panchakarma at other clinics report that they actually received 2 days of treatment before being evaluated. These clinics use a fixed plan which is almost identical for every client and is followed for the duration of Panchakarma. You then see the Ayurvedic Practitioner or Panchakarma Administrator after Panchakarma is complete. Please understand that this is not ineffective or poor care, but it is not optimal care. Their universal treatment approach provides some level of benefit to most people.

These clinics have valid reasons for providing care in this manner. Qualified well trained Ayurvedic Practitioners are a rarity, at present there are probably less than 25 trained and qualified Panchakarma Practitioners in the USA. It is also expensive employing an Ayurvedic Practitioner to provide the actual treatments. Instead they use massage technicians. While these technicians are trained in the mechanics of the techniques, none of them have the diagnostic discernment to understand or perceive treatment progression.

Bodies change, sometimes dramatically, during Panchakarma. Once a treatment has accomplished it intended purpose, it is time to move on to the next aspect of treatment, which is unique for each person. The only way to monitor progress, and the only way to insure that maximum benefit is obtained, is to have an Ayurvedic Practitioner in the treatment room at all times. Living Ayurveda is the only clinic that provides this level of service.

Providing this level of care does limit the number of clients that we can see at any one time. And yes, practicing in this way is a tremendous amount of work. We and our staff are pleasantly tired an the completion of a Panchakarma day. We have seen the dramatic difference that our quality of care provides. We have a growing list of repeat, satisfied customers.

Panchakarma is an incredible gift to give yourself or a loved one. All the therapies are nurturing and feel absolutely wonderful. Panchakarma is intended to be a time when you stop the routine of daily life and take time for yourself. It is a moment to unwind and release long held toxins, worries and memories. This is an opportunity for you to create optimal good health in all areas of your life. A time to reflect on life and determine if the life you are living is truly good for you, and if it is not, a time to change your direction to one more positive.
